About Me

My Corporate Career



From a temporary employee for a financial services organization doing mostly file and mail room services, I eventually became a full-time employee providing help-desk support after the management took notice of my technical skills. I quickly rose through the ranks and was then exposed to software development, which became the launching pad of my programming career. I then began to lead a term of application developers until I was tasked to lead a division’s IT department for a healthcare company. I was entrusted with more responsibilities and later on took a leadership role in the implementation of HIPPA, healthcare compliance and accreditation. The CEO recognized my capabilities and asked that I lead the managed care division as the Vice President, while they were on search for a new candidate. During that fourteen-month period, I served on the executive board and was able to produce significant increases in both revenue and profit margin. Upon successful completion of that assignment, I was tapped to lead a project to consolidate five-divisional IT departments into one cohesive organization-wide department.

My Salesforce Experience



I was first introduced to Salesforce over the last couple of years of my corporate work. My business began with the idea of helping businesses with strategic planning and process improvement. One of my clients was looking for a CRM to manage their sales. I introduced them to Salesforce and we hired a consulting firm to help with the implementation. The owner of the firm told me if I'd get certified on Salesforce, he'd use me as a subcontractor. I agreed and my business model changed. I continue to leverage my strategic planning and process improvement skills, I do it from the lens of Salesforce.

I have continued to pursue my knowledge of Salesforce and am nearing their most prized certification, the Certified Technical Architect. I'm a couple exams away from reaching that goal but according to the Artisan Hub, a group that ranks certified Salesforce professionals, I rank number 1 in the State of Iowa and number 200 of over 23,000 in the United States. I don't share that to help provide clarity around the level of expertise my certifications hold.
