My Career Summary



Terry Miller is a master of blending business strategy and technology using practical, common-sense approaches. For over 25 years, working in both the corporate and consulting worlds, he's tackled numerous complex assignments.

Terry's career path started as a temporary employee working in the mailroom of a financial services company. His technical skill became apparent, and he quickly rose through the ranks. His ability to explain technology in a clear, understandable way consistently won the trust and confidence of those around; from the executive board room to the technologists implementing his plans.

Some of Terry's most significant corporate accomplishments include:

  • The implementation of HIPPA and other healthcare compliance and accreditation assignments.
  • Leading 185 managed care professionals as an interim Vice President over fourteen months, producing significant increases in both revenue and profit margin.
  • Designing and implementing a plan to consolidate five-divisional IT departments into one cohesive organization-wide department.
  • After many successful years of corporate leadership, Terry rebranded himself and became a wildly successful independent consultant. His Salesforce journey began, and he has not looked back.

    Terry is passionate about the Salesforce family of products. He holds fifteen certifications on the Platform, making him one of the top resources in the Midwest. Terry is easily approachable and cares deeply about helping others achieve their goals. He is a Lightning Champion, a mentor, a leader of the Des Moines Trailhead User Group, blogger, and trainer.

    My Salesforce Experience



    I was first introduced to Salesforce over the last couple of years of my corporate work. My business began with the idea of helping businesses with strategic planning and process improvement. One of my clients was looking for a CRM to manage their sales. I introduced them to Salesforce and we hired a consulting firm to help with the implementation. The owner of the firm told me if I'd get certified on Salesforce, he'd use me as a subcontractor. I agreed and my business model changed. I continue to leverage my strategic planning and process improvement skills, I do it from the lens of Salesforce.

    I have continued to pursue my knowledge of Salesforce and am nearing their most prized certification, the Certified Technical Architect. I'm a couple exams away from reaching that goal but according to the Artisan Hub, a group that ranks certified Salesforce professionals, I rank number 1 in the State of Iowa and number 200 of over 23,000 in the United States. I don't share that to help provide clarity around the level of expertise my certifications hold.
