Replace entails addressing technical debt, utilizing out of the box capabilities, and validating business needs. Redirect requires detecting which platform is in use and appropriately route to Classic or Lightning pages.  And finally, when redeveloping you will want to consolidate work flow, triggers, and apex, and migrate to process builder for greater efficiency.
